The genre of the game is Fighter; its age rating is 12 and has the following warnings, violence , bad language and online game . The game is based in a world full of ninjas where they use chakra (magic energy) to use special moves, called ninjutsu, to fight each other. The game boasts a simple play style so it's easy to pick up and play, using only a single button each for attack, block, jump, ranged attacks and charging chakra, yet also has mass amounts of combos that you can perform to allow more experienced gamers to add more excitement to the fights. However this simplicity is a double edged sword, while it means that its easier for beginners it limits the gameplay and your actions and can mean you are limited to repeating certain moves over and over again which over time will make the gameplay seen stale and boring. The online play allows you to pick a character from a selection and fight another person over the internet however this is filled with people who spam a single button the whole game which unfortunately ruins the fun of it as is boring and frustrates you.
Story mode has you follow two different people the protagonist Naruto and the antagonist Sasuke, each one following a different path with lots of fights, along the story are lots of side missions and tasks for you to complete as well so you don’t have a lack of things to do. There is one thing that is different between some of the story mode battles and a normal fight and that’s the cut scenes which feature reaction commands where a button will appear on the screen and you have to press the corresponding button in time, this livens up and makes these fights more exciting and special and also gives the player an extra challenge to overcome. Moving on from the game play the look and feel of the game tries to excite the player with bright flashing colours and dramatic poses, it also has trailers and cut scenes with fast passed fighting which also excites the player and draws them in. Giving it this dramatic and exciting feel does make up for the game play’s stale and boring habits.
And then theirs the stunning artwork which in a over the top anime style works beautifully along with the game and is rewrd enough when playing the game, as the moves themselves seem to jump out of the screen at you. So in general it is an amazing game with only the flaw of the game play having a short life expectancy.
