Three-part series on Abertay University contest in which 15 teams develop from concept to prototype in 10 weeks.
Channel 4 is to screen a three-part documentary series about the University of Abertay’s Dare To Be Digital competition.
The documentary, Crunchtime, has been produced by independent studio Headlight Pictures. It chronicles the latest Dare To Be Digital, in which 15 teams from all over the world developed games from concept to prototype in just 10 weeks.
Resulting creations are considered for the BAFTA Ones To Watch award, and Crunchtime promises to show students “as they learn about how the reality of game development compares to the dream.”
Abertay University’s Paul Durrant said: “Crunchtime is a fabulous opportunity to open up the excitement and passion within creative teams making games for a wider audience. Abertay University has pioneered the provision of real-world work opportunities for students and graduates, and Dare To Be Digital has been our way of providing that opportunity and allowing all-comers to compete at an international level and showcase their talent.”
Crunchtime begins on Sunday March 27 at 7.25am on Channel 4.
